Cappaghconbeg in Irish “Ceapaigh an Chonnaidh Beag” is in the Ballynagar electoral division and is 62.15 acres or 25.15 hectares in size. John O’Donovan recorded two interpretations of the Cappaghcon name: “Ceapach Con”, meaning “plot of the hounds” (also given by P. W. Joyce), and “Ceapachán”, meaning “a small plot”.
Cappaghconbeg borders Cappaghcon, Cappaghcon East, Coarseparks and Gortnakilla.
